Join me as I explore the abandoned RAF Norton Hall base in Lincolnshire, England. This episode documents some of the social facilities on site for the military personnel and hospital staff. First, inside a curved steel hut is a former children's club building. Colourful murals decorate the walls featuring Mickey Mouse, Jaws, Spider-Man and Red Guardian. This is the NAAFI (Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes), the main social hub and entertainment area. At Nocton Hall the airman's club was called The Winged Serpent, blending in RAF and medical references. On the bar walls are stickers, these usually left by visiting personnel from other bases (the stickers are often called "zaps"). RAF Norton Hall was established ahead of World War Two. It functioned primarily as a military hospital and training centre for decades. Operations ceased at the location in the 1990s. #NoctonHall #Lincolnshire #History #AbandonedPlaces #Urbex
